It's a miracle of miracles, a wonder of wonders, whatever you want to call it, but I finished the entire Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyers in less than a week. AND, I actually liked them (or at least the first one) Now, until this moment, I've never seen the movie or even touched the book so I had absolutely no idea what to expect except for sparkling vampire and too-hot-for-his-own-good werewolf and I was pleasantly surprised to find that that's not the case...most of the time...
I don't know about you, but in the small, little town that I'm from, Meyers isn't the most popular author (sorry, but it's true) and the people's knowledge on werewolf and vampire myths seems to be extremely educated (though half of them don't know what the hey their talking about).
The bottom line is, even if the story doesn't necessarily work hand in hand with the folk tales doesn't mean that they're not good books. I thought, if nothing else, it was a very good love story intermingled with some action. Not to mention that I'm now in love with yet another fictional boy. *coughEdwardCullencough*
From personal experience, I would suggest to actually read THE BOOK before you make your opinion on the series. (seeing the movie doesn't count)
