Okay, so I'm aware that I've already praised this author. What can I say? She's just that awesome.
When we last discussed Kasie West, I think I did a pretty good job at expressing my feelings toward her writing and her books. I just have to say, the feelings have not changed.
Not only have I finished two more of her novels (P.S. I Like You and The Fill-In Boyfriend) but I'm pretty sure I will have to be content with being single forever because of my now impossible standards of those of the male sex. Thanks West.
But in all seriousness, I really do love her characters. The narrators of each are so distinct and yet I was able to relate to each on in a different way. I'd be reading P.S. I Like You and be thinking, "Wow, it's like this author literally stole my awkwardness." But honestly, I can relate with Lily on a spiritual, soul sister, this-is-just-me level. Minus the whole cute, letter writing thing (which I'm totally down for btw).
But then we'd jump to a character like Mia, who is Lily's complete opposite and I'd still be like, "Oh my goodness, when was the last time I was actually a decent human being?" and than have a heart to heart with myself about how I need to be a better person but I'll start tomorrow.
Anyway, the point is, I could really connect, you know? I don't read very many books where I simultaneously want and don't want to be the narrator.
But Kasie West is awesome and ya'll should just read her books already because they are so worth it.
