In my reading experience, I have determined that I have this thing for ShadowMountain. I absolutely LOVE the books published by them. The most resent one that I read is a book called Adventurers Wanted: Slathbog's Gold by M.L. Forman. Oh my heck, it was so cool.
It's kind of like a simpler version of The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolken but it also had sort of a Fablehaven thing going on. I thought it was awesome. Seriously, it was well written, family friendly, and just fun. Just the way Alex was forced into all this craziness and yet stuck with it all was realistic and encouraging.
Now, I'm not saying that finding a magical sign and heading off on some adventure is realistic but it's the way Forman puts you inside of Alex's head and lets you see a world from a totally realistic view point. But don't take my word for it; If you want to read Adventurers Wanted, apply within. (inside joke for those who've read the book)
