My fun facts for the day

As I was scrolling through some of my blog statistics, I found something that made me all warm and fuzzy inside. It turns out that the most page views I've ever gotten on a post was actually something of mine, not just a critic of a book. That made me do a little happy dance (and ya'll should be grateful I can't record because my dancing might mentally scar you) I think I'll just stick to writing ;

The old wizard fumbled up the stairs, his robes wrapping around his feet like a cobra as he struggled to sprint. The papers clutched in his hands almost whispered to him, warning him of every danger they held. The wizard held them closer, wary that their fragile material could crumble to dust at anytime; a risk he was willing to take if it kept their content safe.
Stumbling, he collapsed in a heap on the steps, his breath coming in ragged gasps as he fought for oxygen. He could hear his assailant creeping closer, probably sensing his magic with her own. She was like a hound, sniffing him out with only his magical aura. He cursed himself for the thousandth time for this blessing and curse.
The cold field seized his body suddenly, freezing his limbs and numbing his tongue.
"It truly is a pity," the snake like voice of his enemy hissed, "All the effort and for what? You're growing weak, Merlin; it almost tempts me to let you live."
Fire boiled in the wizard despite his cold encasement. He forced some words passed his lips, "We both know you won't loose any sleep over it either way, Morgana,"
She shrugged, her heels clicking as she approached, her cloak shimmering in royal greens, blues and purples.
"Any final words?" she mocked, running her knife gently down the wizard's face, "I'll be sure to share them with all of Camelot."
Quick as lightning, Merlin broke the cold hold and shoved her into the stair rail. Her reflexes, however, were prepared for such an attack and with one swift motion, plunged the knife into the wizard's heart. A whole new frigidness corrupted his body, a numb pain spidering around  him.
"This isn't over," he gasped, "The Once and Future King will rise again." With his dwindling power, he set the papers in his hands ablaze, "You will die at Arthur's hand, heed my words." He collapsed, leaving nothing but a witch, a knife and the prophecy's ashes.
